NATO has said they won’t get involved in the chaos perpetrated by Russia in a statement released.
The secretary of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg says NATO remains committed to keeping channels for diplomacy and deconfliction open after an extraordinary meeting of the body ministers of foreign affairs.
we have a role to ensure it does not escalate beyond Ukraine because that would be even more dangerous and devastating with even more human suffering according to the secretary.
The secretary further stated that the alliance remained focused to keeping channels with Russia open to avoid any unintended escalation, miscalculation or misunderstanding.
He also mentioned there is no consideration of declaring a no-fly zone over Ukraine. We have agreed that no NATO planes will operate over Ukraine airspace or NATO troops on Ukraine soil.
