Mr Oppong, who is currently a senior lecturer at the GSL, will succeed Kwasi Prempeh-Eck, who will retire soon.
He is Akyem Abuakwa’s Manwerehene, and his stool name is Omansomfo Barima Oppong Kodie.
He is a Supreme Court of Ghana solicitor.
He also serves as the Managing Partner of Ampofo, Oppong and Associates, a law firm in Accra, Ghana.
He has lectured at a number of Ghanaian universities, including Central University.
He is currently a senior lecturer at the Ghana School of Law.
The National Media Commission (NMC) swore him in as a member of the Graphic Communications Group Limited Board of Directors just last Friday (March 11, 2022). (GCGL).
Mr. Oppong earned a first-year law degree from the University of Ghana and later qualified as a Barrister-at-Law from the Ghana School of Law in Makola, Accra, Ghana.
He has a Master’s Degree in Oil and Gas Law (LLM) from the University of Ghana, Legon’s Faculty of Law.
He is also a member of the London-based Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Lawyer Oppong’s current career as a professional lawyer, lecturer, and farmer has placed him in a position where he is exposed to the practicality of the ongoing interaction between traditional and modern institutions.
Lawyer Oppong has been a regular resource person contributing to topical discussions on a wide range of legal issues for several years.
