Nigerians have reacted to reports that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to run for president in 2023.
According to Naija News, though Osinbajo has yet to officially declare his intention, credible sources have confirmed the vice president has informed Buhari of his 2023 presidential ambition.
According to sources, Osinbajo wishes to fill Buhari’s shoes and continue implementing the current administration’s policies.
According to another source, after listening to Osinbajo, President Buhari gave him his blessings, just as he had done to others who expressed interest before him.
Following the news, Nigerians took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Osinbajo’s alleged presidential ambitions and his conversation with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The vice president had first sought the advice of some prominent Nigerians, who encouraged him to run for president and also encouraged him to inform the president himself.
“They told him not to let a third party tell the president so that the ambition is not misconstrued,” he explained.
Another source told the report that Buhari was not surprised when the vice president brought up the subject with him.
