Toke Makinwa, a media personality, has warned Nigerians against disrespecting and belittling her achievements.
She made the statement in response to a tweet from Ayomide, who questioned her celebrity status.
Ayomide, who goes by the handle @unclebobby86, tweeted, “The way you guys abuse the word celebrity ehh.” Please explain what makes Toke a celebrity.
“Is it coming on TV and advising kids to marry a rich man, resulting in prostitution, that made her a celebrity?” @tokstarr should never be used in the same sentence as the word “celebrity.” She’s only famous on Instagram.”
One Oluwaseun, who goes by the handle @Iam SMOD, responded, “whatever makes Kim K a celebrity.”
Ayomide, on the other hand, stated, “Kim Kardashian is a reality TV star.” She’s also a global brand, a socialite, a model, and a businesswoman. Please explain what Toke does.
In response to the development, Makinwa, while lamenting the disrespect, urged Ayomide to look up her name on the internet.
“Let me help you small, I am a radio presenter, a television presenter, I have a pan African talk show, the biggest talk show on television with an African audience, actor, author, vlogger, entrepreneur, and the list is endless,” she added. Nigerians should stop treating me with contempt.
“I literally be on my own lane, and you lane ass sorry excuse called “men” who have nothing to offer but your Twitter fingers, constantly belittle my achievements for conversations.” If it’s simple, I’ll do it. Sometimes I have to take off my crown and set you straight. Google is your best friend.
“No one should tell me to ignore because ignoring these shitheads is what causes them to run wild with fictitious stories.” I built my brand from the ground up and will not tolerate anyone’s disrespect. “We’re back to our regular programming.”
