David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, an award-winning Nigerian artiste, has defended his support for his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, an Osun State governorship aspirant.
The singer stated that he was backing the senator because he (Davido) was fighting for his state and his “blood.”
This was in response to a Twitter troll who chastised Senator Adeleke for running for governor of Osun.
The tweep was responding to Davido’s tweet, in which the singer expressed his displeasure with the country.
On Wednesday, Davido tweeted, “Naija don cast fully.”
“Same naija wey your uncle dey contest election?” replied @lexxy4real. Why can’t he run for governor of Atlanta, where he is a citizen? “How come Naija wey don cast?”
Davido responded to the user, saying, “Bro, I’m giving out money on Friday.” Instead of fighting for people who don’t give a f*ck about you, join in and win something!
I’m fighting for the sake of my state and my blood! You’re fighting for someone who doesn’t care about you and may even put me ahead of you.”
This comes after the singer announced a N20 million donation to 20 business owners.
Davido, who had previously lamented the cost of removing his Lamborghini from the port, has also requested prayers for the country.
