Jurgen Klopp confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold is out with a hamstring injury during his pre-match press conference.
The defender has sustained an injury, which means he will miss this weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final against Nottingham Forest, as well as the upcoming international break for England.
Klopp provided an update on his right-back situation.
“Trent is out with a hamstring injury and will not be able to play for England.” We’ll see how long it takes to find out. Mo felt his foot a little bit after the game, so we’ll see what we do with that, and on top of that, there are some other bits and bobs, so we’ll see what we do with that.
While any injury to a player like Alexander-Arnold is unfortunate, Liverpool’s situation could be much worse.
There will be an international break coming up, which will allow the full-back to rest and recover without missing too many games for Liverpool.
Of course, we don’t know when the defender will be back, but if this injury happened during a busy period, it would be much worse.
Let’s hope Alexander-Arnold is available for the crucial match against Manchester City next month.
