Wilfred Ndidi may be out for a few weeks after suffering a medial ligament injury in Leicester City’s Europa Conference League last-16 second leg against Rennes on Thursday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
After injuring his knee in a 50-50 challenge, the midfielder was replaced by James Maddison at the hour mark.
Foxes coach Brendan Rodgers said ahead of City’s match against Brentford on Sunday that the Nigerian will now undergo scans to determine the extent of his absence.
“We just have to assess Wilfred Ndidi,” Rodgers said.
“He suffered an injury that could keep him out for a few weeks, which is unfortunate.”
“Just as it appears that we are regaining players. When everyone is available, we have a really good squad. It appears that we will receive some, but one or two may be missing. We’ll have to wait until the scans arrive.”
Rodgers also revealed that despite playing in the game, his compatriot Ademola Lookman is not fully fit.
“Ricardo Pereira and Ademola Lookman put themselves out there against Rennes despite the fact that they weren’t 100% and weren’t feeling well.” They came into the game and gave everything they had for the team, so they should be available for the game against Brendford.
