According to recent reports, Arsenal has been told that Napoli center-forward Victor Osimhen will cost around £84 million.
Arsenal has reportedly been offered £84 million for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
After allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona during the January transfer window, the Gunners are looking for a top-tier striker this summer. To complicate matters further, both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are in the final four months of their contracts with the Emirates Stadium and football. The north Londoners are rumored to be interested in bringing in two center-forwards this summer.
Lille’s Jonathan David and Real Sociedad’s Jonathan Isak are just two of the names mentioned as possible targets for technical director Edu. Arsenal are interested in the aforementioned Osimhen, according to NapoliGazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).
According to the report, a transfer will not take place unless the Gunners pay around €100 million (£84 million) for the Nigerian international. Osimhen joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a reported £58 million plus add-ons and has since notched 25 goals and seven assists for the Italian giants.
The 23-year-old has previously been heavily linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s side, and as a teenager, he turned down a chance to move to north London. “I spoke with Arsene Wenger after the tournament (Under-17 World Cup in 2015), and he wanted me to come to Arsenal,” he said in a 2020 interview.
