Some entertainers have expressed concern about the rising cost of living in the country, which has been caused by increases in fuel and diesel prices, as well as dwindling electricity supply.
Remember that in the last month, there has been a scarcity of fuel due to the importation of ‘dirty’ premium motor spirit into the country, which has ruined the vehicles of many Nigerians. This is despite the fact that the usually poor power supply has gotten even worse, with the national grid collapsing twice this week.
Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, a singer, lamented the large sum of money he spends on fueling his generator. “Ordinary house, I am spending N1.4m naira for (sic) diesel,” he wrote on social media. “Diesel is the new opulence.”
Debo Adedayo, aka Mr Macaroni, a popular comedian and actor, tweeted, “No light, fuel price has gone up, scarcity, Academic Staff Union of Universities is on strike, food prices have gone up, housing costs are ridiculously high, the security level of lives and property is concerning, and no jobs.” Salary payments are not being made. Nigerians are really suffering!”
Toke Makinwa, an actress and presenter, also posted on Twitter, “800 Naira per litre for diesel.” My generator has been running since early this morning. Nigeria, which way do you want to go?

Stephanie Coker, an actress and TV host, tweeted, “The bill for my car as a result of bad fuel is N3.7m; a 2020 car!” Diesel is now N780 per liter. It is likely to rise now that the power grid has failed. I passed by the Lekki toll gate, and it (a sign there) states that tolls will be reinstated on April Fool’s Day (April 1). “Are we fools or being fooled?”
Timi Dakolo, a singer, wrote on Twitter about the new message he received from his service apartment, “Nigeria will humble you.” The service apartment stated that they will not be servicing again.
Everyone should get their own generator. They said, ‘Cancel the contract that states there will be no personal generators in the facility.'”
