The Member of Parliament (MP) for New Edubiase, Abdul Salam Adams, issued a statement in support of the men’s national team ahead of the match on Friday.
Other speakers included the Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who urged his colleagues to put aside their political differences and rally behind the Black Stars as they attempt to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
“We’re all fans of the Black Stars. We want to see them succeed, but we are frequently let down.

Benson Tongo Baba, MP for Talensi, believes the statistics favor the Black Stars in the match and has urged his colleagues and Ghanaians in general to support the team.
According to statistics, Ghana outnumbers Nigeria. On this basis, I believe we should all band together to support the Black Stars. Aside from investigating what went wrong, this House has a responsibility,” he said.
“We should take the initiative and send a special message to the Black Stars as representatives of the people so that they are aware that all of us, as one body, fully support them in their victory in Kumasi and then in Abuja.”
Ghana plays Nigeria in the first leg on Friday in Kumasi before traveling to Abuja for the second leg on Tuesday for a place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
