Germany has delivered 1,500 Strela anti-aircraft missiles and 100 MG3 machine guns to the Ukrainian government.
Additional 350,000 food packs, 50 medical transport vehicles, and medical supplies were delivered, according to Kyiv independence.
According to the German Press Agency, which cited the Ukrainian government, the shipment arrived yesterday.
What the German minister has to say
As a result of delivery delays, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated on Wednesday that more Strela missiles were on their way to Ukraine.
The German government has reversed its policy of not sending weapons to the conflict zone in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“I can confidently state that additional Strela deliveries are on the way.”
“We are one of the largest weapons suppliers in this situation; it doesn’t make us proud, but it’s what we have to do to help Ukraine,” Ms Baerbock explained.
In case you missed it, here it is:
Earlier this week, Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, called on NATO to demonstrate its commitment to protecting his people from a Russian invasion in a virtual address.
Zelensky pleaded with NATO to protect humanity’s future by imposing a no-fly zone on Russian planes and missiles that enter Ukrainian airspace. He stated that the Alliance can still prevent Ukrainians from dying as a result of Russian attacks.
