Shehu Abdullahi, a Super Eagles defender, and his wife, Kannywood actress Naja’atu Suleiman, have welcomed a baby boy.
The baby is the first child of the defender, who plays for Omonia FC in the Cypriot First Division.
Abdullahi took to Instagram to share the news with his fans, posting a photo of himself with Suleiman and noting that both the newborn and the mother were fine.
“We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our baby boy; both mother and child are doing well.” We are grateful to Allah! This morning, we were blessed with the arrival of our son. “Thank you for your prayers,” he wrote.
The 29-year-old defender is currently on national duty with the Super Eagles, who face Ghana in a doubleheader in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for 2022.
Nigeria has arrived in Kumasi, Ghana, for the first leg of the playoff round against the Black Stars, which begins at 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The second leg will be played on Tuesday, March 29, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, with the overall winner of both fixtures earning one of Africa’s five spots in the World Cup, which will be hosted by Qatar.
