In a bold move to ensure high-decibel support for the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 playoff final battle against the Black Stars of Ghana, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Football Federation have jointly purchased 20,000 tickets to give to fans who wish to support the Eagles on the day.
Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, made the announcement following a meeting of the ministry’s organizing committee, which included NFF officials.
“We will purchase 20,000 tickets and distribute them to fans at designated locations on Monday and Tuesday morning.”
We want to show our support for the Super Eagles by filling the stands to capacity.
“The NFF did an excellent job in securing the maximum capacity of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium for the match.” “If you consider the efforts that the ticket rights holder, Africa Independent Television, has been making on their own, this move will guarantee us a full house,” said Hon. Sunday Dare.
Mallam Shehu Dikko, NFF 2nd Vice President, added that both the Ministry and the NFF believe the Super Eagles will earn a seventh FIFA World Cup finals ticket on Tuesday evening.
“It’s a big game, and we need all the help we can get for our team.”
The players, like the Ghanaians in Kumasi, have expressed a desire for a full house. We would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry for initiating this initiative.”
Nigeria and Ghana meet at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday evening in what is likely to be the most anticipated and potentially explosive match in the two countries’ 71-year, 58-match rivalry, following a scoreless first 90 minutes in Kumasi on Friday.
