Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the CEO of 3Music Awards, has revealed that Black Sherif’s performance in the fake rain was intended for Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, who was scheduled to perform first at the awards ceremony.
On Saturday, March 26, 2022, Black Sherif and his team, along with the organizers of the 3Music Awards, devised a creative way to make his performance at the award show memorable.
The artiste stood topless in what appeared to be ‘artificial rain’ as water from above poured on him on stage as he performed his eccentric First and Second Sermon songs to the delight of the patrons who flocked to Accra’s Grand Arena.

“In fact, Angel wanted us to finish the unfinished business we had before he felt confident enough to pick up such conversations with Sarkodie.” And so, when we realized that what we wanted to do was not realistically available at the time and would have to wait until later, we realized that we needed to move on.”
At this point, one of Black Sherif’s handlers made a strong case for him, arguing that based on his work over the previous year, he deserved to open the awards show’s main event.
