Some People’s Democratic Party stakeholders claim they are working together to find a consensus presidential candidate who will lead the country out of insecurity, economic crisis, and other problems.
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki revealed this to reporters after a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan.
Senator Saraki, who was joined by the governors of Bauchi, Bala Muhammed, and Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwaal, and Senator Aliyu Ayatudeen, said that all hands must be on deck to get the country out of its current predicament.
He insisted on the need for unity of purpose among party leaders and members, saying that all aspirants under the party’s umbrella are willing to go through a rigorous process.
All aspirants are willing to abide by the party’s position, according to the former Senate President, because the party’s focus is on providing credible and people-oriented government for Nigerians.
Governor Seyi Makinde responded by saying the meeting was productive and that Nigerians should take the party seriously because it has been working on finding a presidential candidate who is acceptable to all.
Makinde stated that the consensus agreement was still in place, and that it would ensure that people understood the agreement and that any misunderstandings were resolved.
