On Thursday, April 7th, 2022, the Northern Regional Police Command detained suspect Mohammed Iddi alias “Water” for illegally possessing firearms.
During routine police intelligence operations, the suspect was apprehended at the Pigu police barrier on the Tamale-Bolgatanga Highway.
Six (6) new foreign-made ‘9mm Calibre Bruni 92’ handguns were recovered as a result of the operation.
Suspect Mohammed Iddi was arraigned before High Court One in Tamale on Friday, April 8, 2022, and held in police detention until April 25, 2022.
The Northern Regional Police Command’s dedication in securing a successful operation has impressed the police administration.
The police also reassured the public of their commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment and asked for their support in carrying out their duties.
