“My concentration is 100 percent on winning all of the championships we’re competing for, and I’ll only discuss about my future at the end of the season,” Fernandinho wrote on Twitter. “Let’s keep moving forward.”
In early March, Fernandinho made his final appearance for City in a home Champions League fixture against Sporting.
Guardiola, on the other hand, stated that his club captain remained a key presence at the Etihad.
“I enjoy the folks that behave behind the scenes,” he explained about the position he plays this season.
“I’m aware of what he’s done; behind my back, he manages several of our players and stars for the team’s advantage.”
“I congratulate him, and he was waiting for me when I arrived. A few players are Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, and John Stones. We’ve known him since the beginning, and he’s always been here.
“A fantastic player for Man City.” There are some things that no one else knows about, but I do.”
City, who have yet to be named European champions after losing the Champions League final to English rivals Chelsea last season, will head to Spain with a 1-0 advantage thanks to a goal from De Bruyne in the first leg.
Guardiola announced that defender Ruben Dias had returned to training and will accompany the team on its trip.
A thigh issue had kept the Portugal centre-back out since early March.
“I don’t know if (he’ll play on Wednesday),” Guardiola remarked.
