Nathaniel Bassey, a popular Nigerian gospel artist, has cautioned people planning to marriage to be cautious.
Before tying the married, he advised prospective couples to conduct thorough background checks on their potential spouses.
In an Instagram post, he noted that love is not blind, “because God is love and God is not blind,” and that people should “shine their eyes” when making such a crucial decision.
People should not disregard red flags in their relationships, according to him.
“Even when you claim, or others say, “God said,” but you recognize some attributes that are contradictory with Godly character, pray and check again,” Nathaniel Bassey said.
“May you never marry your adversary.”
The gospel singer prayed for those, both men and women, who are going through difficult marriages.
“May God provide you the WISDOM to make sound decisions before it’s too late.” In the name of Jesus. “Amen,” he concluded.
This comes after the death of Osinachi Nwachukwu, a fellow gospel singer who died purportedly as a result of her husband’s maltreatment.
On Friday, April 8, Osinachi Nwachukwu died in an Abuja hospital.
Following the interview, Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, was arrested by Abuja police.
According to a Daily Post interview, the arrest was made after a family member filed a complaint.
“I remember how she’d come to me with a smile and humility, saying hello, when we had to minister at worship occasions,” said Osinachi Bassey. But she’s now with our lord. But I have to say, it’s a little early.”
