Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has been advised by a group calling itself “Team Alimikhena” to enter the Presidential election rather than engage in a battle of wits with Senator Francis Alimikhena over a Senate seat.
Mr Sunny Ifijen, the group’s convener, and Omeiza Ogumah, the group’s secretary, issued a signed press statement with this advice.
They warned the former governor against getting carried away with endorsements from “selfish” people. Team Alimikhena further cautioned that individuals supporting Oshiomole to run for Senate are doing so not only for their own personal gain, but also to sever Oshiomole and Alimikhena’s long-standing friendship.
“If those pulling Oshiomhole to pursue the Edo North senate seat are truly concerned about Oshiomhole’s advancement, they should have advised him to join the Presidential campaign, which has practically been zoned to the South,” the statement continued.
