Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has stated that if he does not run for president, he will be betraying Nigerians.
When he visited Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Akure, Ondo State’s capital, to proclaim his intention to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, Osinbajo mentioned this.
Osinbajo said he decided to run for president because he had learned a lot and built a lot of contacts both within Nigeria and internationally.
President Buhari entrusted him with the task of running the country’s affairs as an acting president, he admitted.
President Buhari just asked him to be fair and just while he was in charge, according to the vice president.
As a result, he claimed that the country need a significant service to get it out of its funk.
“It’s an opportunity to be called to public duty,” the vice president says. This is the most valuable contribution we can make to society. It’s an honor to be asked to serve.”
