Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi state and a presidential aspirant on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, has picked up his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form to run for the presidency in 2023.
Mr Bello, who was the first to pay the N100 fee for the forms, was greeted by a large crowd of party supporters and supporters from across the country who have been asking him to run for President.
“Right now, what we have ahead of us is a task of canvassing and consulting the party loyal, leaders, delegates and stalwarts, members and all Nigerians, at home and even in the diaspora to support us,” Governor Bello addressed to the massive crowd that had gathered to greet him.
“Right now, we have a task of canvassing and advising the party loyal, leaders, delegates and stalwarts, members and all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to support us so that we may become the flagbearer of this great party on May 30 and 31, 2022.” And, by God’s unique favor, I am convinced that I, as well as the party, will emerge triumphant.
“Yahaya Bello is coming to the table to restore hope for Nigerians, all black Africans, and all black nations throughout the world,” he said. That is the hope with which we are aligned.
That is the hope with which we are aligned. To bring the country and our people together, to keep them safe, and to put them on the path to progress and prosperity.”
“That is the beauty of democracy,” he remarked of the clamor for Jonathan to run. Anyone can campaign for, compete for, and support anyone in a democracy. But rest assured that our great party, the All Progressives Congress, has its own set of ethics, rules, and regulations, all of which are in my favor.
“Because I am in the majority, I am confident.” I have the support of the women, the youths, and those with disabilities, as well as leaders, followers, Nigerians, and, most importantly, God Almighty.”
The fact that Bello was the first candidate to pay for nomination forms, according to Hafsat Abiola-Costello, Director-General of the Hope ’23 Yahaya Bello Campaign Organisation, proved sincerity of purpose.
Bello’s behavior, she claimed, was a demonstration that Nigeria’s youth were ready to lead the country.
“This is a watershed moment in the history of our country, Nigeria,” he said.
“Finally, Nigeria’s youth are taking charge, demonstrating that we are capable of leading this country to a brighter future.”
“At this time, Gov. Yahaya Bello, the candidate, has arrived to pick his form. He was the first to pay for his APC Presidential nomination form, and he came to pick it up today. Because we want to show that we are serious about our mission, we believe that this is the destiny that God has planned for Nigeria, and we will do everything we can to make it a reality.
“So, when we go to the Presidential Campaign, we’re looking forward to the support of the APC delegates, as well as the support of Nigerians.”
“God willing, President Yahaya Bello would visit Aso Rock in 2023. “All Nigerians should be proud,” Abiola-Costello remarked.
