Fatima Ali Mohammed, Chairperson of Agricultural at the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), has emphasized the importance of involving the youth in the agribusiness value chain.
Young people, she believes, have the potential to propose ideas that will help the agricultural sector expand.
Ms. Ali Mohammed, speaking to the media at the Ghana Agriculture and Agro-Processing Awards, said the government should involve the youth in information technology in order to bring technical solutions to the sector’s difficulties.
We need to get the youth interested in technology. Technology is propelling progress all around the world through the involvement of youth. She stated, “We must begin working with the youth to find solutions to our challenges.”
Ms. Ali Mohammed went on to say that the sector’s long-term viability is contingent on suitable incentives and awards for young men and women.
“I believe we can sustain this industry if we give the kids a reason to accomplish more.” “The government should be willing to present them prizes and awards, since this will greatly assist them in their mission,” she continued.
After receiving an award, Agnes Gifty Adjei Sam, Director for Market Development and Market Promotion at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, committed to continue working hard to promote investments in agriculture to assist combat inflation caused by rising food costs.
“We are grateful for the honor bestowed upon us on this solemn occasion of the industry’s annual national awards.
We are honored that our efforts to help more individuals build and ensure a better future have been acknowledged.”
Agriculture, she insisted, remained a critical component in maintaining economic stability.
“We will continue to promote creative agriculture solutions that actually fulfill the needs of Ghanaians as a premier brand,” she said.
The Ghana Agriculture and Agro-Processing Awards brought together players in the agriculture business to honor the accomplishments of local and foreign firms in the field.
The awards also recognized the achievements of the industry and established a standard for excellence.
