Ghana’s Black Maidens are on the verge of qualifying for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India. On Saturday, the National Women’s U-17 team beat their Guinean rivals 6-0 in the second leg match in Accra. In the fourth round of qualifying, the Maidens will meet Moroccan powerhouse Morocco, with the winner qualifying for the World Cup. After thrashing Guinea in the second leg of the qualifiers on Saturday, Ghana’s Black Maidens are on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup. Ghana’s U-17 team won 6-0 in the Accra Sports Stadium to go to the final round of the Women’s U-17 World Cup qualifying tournament.
After winning the first leg 3-1 away in Conakry, coach Baba Nuhu’s side advanced to the last round of the qualifications on a 10-1 aggregate.
The Maidens continued their quest to qualify for every iteration of the U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup with goals from Georgina Aoyem, Dejean Kubura, Mary Amponsah, and a brace from Nancy Amoh and Constance Agyemang.
The Black Maidens will face Morocco in the fourth round of the qualification series as a consequence of the result. The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals will be held in India from October 11 to October 30, 2022.
