Bola Tinubu, the leader of the All Progressives Congress, has submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms for the party’s presidential primary election set for the end of May.
On Wednesday, Tinubu presented the forms to the party at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
He was represented by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives from the Ikeja Federal Constituency; Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation; and Nuhu Ribadu, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Tinubu gathered 370 delegates from across the country to finalize his presidential nomination paperwork.
The ruling party had previously demanded that presidential hopefuls submit their expression of interest and nomination papers with the signatures of 10 statutory delegates from each state and the Federal Capital Territory as a precondition for submitting them.
Each contestant needed the signatures of 370 statutory delegates, which covered the 36 states of the union and the Federal Capital Territory, according to our correspondent who saw the forms.
Tinubu declares, “I will surpass the dreams of our founding fathers.”
Tinubu is said to have been the first of 28 APC presidential candidates to file his N100 million presidential form.
