Kenneth Imasuagbon, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, has urged all members of the party to work together in order to win the presidential election next year.
Imasuagbon, who was chosen as the PDP’s national delegate for the Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, advised members of the party throughout the country to take advantage of the ruling All Progressives Congress’s failings to score a landslide victory at the polls.
He asked Nigerians to punish the APC with their votes for bringing hunger, deaths, and high living costs in the last eight years, while also claiming that some political appointees were foolish in remaining in service while seeking elective office.
“Now is the time for the PDP to come together so that we can win the Presidential election,” he remarked. We can’t be distracted by personal ambition and miss out on the broader prize, which is returning the party to the villa.” Nigerians have had it with the APC. The APC’s failure in all sectors demonstrates the necessity for unity within the PDP. To gain a majority of seats in the legislature, the party must also be united.
“I am requesting immediate resignations from all APC political appointees.” Their continued tenure in office in defiance of the Electoral Act is an insult to Nigerians as a whole,” he added.
Imasuagbon, also known as the “riceman,” received 156 votes to defeat Giwa Agbonmere, who received 50 votes.
