Banky W has been elected to the PDP House of Representatives for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos. According to reports, the musician turned politician received 28 votes in the primary, defeating his opponent who received only three votes. In April, the artist declared his intention to run for the Federal Constituency of Eti-Osa.
Premium Times reports that Olubankole Wellingto, also known as Banky W, has received the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to run for the House of Representatives, Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 elections. Banky W won by a landslide, according to Kennedy Salami, one of the singer’s aides.
“We just finished the elections, and he won,” Salami said. The ticket for the Eti-Osa PDP House Representatives has been acquired.

Banky had indicated in April that he would seek re-election to the House of Representatives to serve the people of Eti-Osa Federal Constituency. “We must interact with Nigeria where it is, not where we want it to be,” he tweeted.
