Record-breaking Kafayat Shafau, better known by her stage name Kaffy, a Nigerian dancer, has disclosed that she stopped having sex with her spouse three years before their divorce.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo published on Saturday, the mother-of-two revealed this.
When Kaffy revealed her divorce in January 2022, she generated quite a stir on the internet.
She said in a recent interview that her spouse cheated on her with her best friend, and that she began to heal after she quit sleeping with him.
Allow me to tell you when I began to heal; when I stopped sleeping with my husband,” she explained.
“I was celibate in my marriage for three years before getting a divorce,” Kaffy continued.
Her understanding of marriage was that it was an assignment alignment, according to her. “We ladies in love are so blinded by many kinds of red signals,” the dancer observed.
“I was thinking at first that I had found someone else who would make me happy,” she continued. That is the most selfish attitude a person can have toward another person.”
Kaffy also spoke out about her parents’ marriage, which was marred by domestic violence.
When her parents fought, she noticed that they used sharp things like knives and forks.
To keep their parents from hurting one other, the dancer and her siblings had to hide sharp objects in the house at one time.
