One of the 11 world leaders speaking at European Development Days is President Akufo-Addo.
The event is organized by the European Commission to encourage new collaborations and innovative solutions to the most pressing issues facing the globe.
“Global Gateway: Building Sustainable Partnerships for a Connected World” is the theme of the 15th EDD. The new European strategy known as Global Gateway aims to expand networks for global health, education, and research while enhancing connections in the digital, energy, and transportation sectors.
On June 22, President Akufo-Addo will take part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Leaders from the Commonwealth are in Rwanda to reaffirm their principles and reach agreements on initiatives and policies that would improve the lives of their people.
The President will also attend the groundbreaking for the Kigali vaccination plant. In Rwanda and Senegal, BioNTech is constructing “turnkey” modular mRNA immunization facilities. Fill-and-finish work is being done in Ghana.
Along with other representatives, he was joined by foreign minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Addo, will preside in President Akufo’s absence.
