Actor Yul Edochie from Nollywood has urged men not to beat their wives and romantic partners.
No matter how enraged a lady made her husband, he said, such a husband should exercise restraint and refrain from assaulting their partners.
In a video he posted on his Instagram page on Saturday, the father of five announced this.
“Hold yourself no matter how she tries to annoy you. Every relationship is wahala, o. That is the reality. Ignore the Instagram photos you see and anything else, he said in Pidgin.
No matter what, you never beat a woman, edochie continued. It’s a sign of weakness rather than strength.
Although Edochie made no mention of any specifics, his comments come only days after Chacha Eke-Faani, a Nollywood actress, announced the dissolution of her nine-year marriage and stated that she didn’t want to die.
Chacha also apologized to her fans for “living a lie” in her marriage in the statement titled, “Leave now or leave as a corpse.”
As the actress’ marriage had previously been troubled by bipolar disorder and rumors of domestic abuse, her news made a stir.
Austin Faani, her husband, has refuted the domestic abuse claims, claiming that he never hit his wife.
