Abubakar Aliyu, the recently deceased Secretary of Kaduna State’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, was murdered by terrorists after they had been paid a ransom by the family.
The thugs kidnapped Aliyu, also known as “Mai Yalo,” on his farm three weeks ago.
The incident was confirmed in a statement released on Friday by Kasim Kasai, the chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union.
He claims that the criminals assassinated the former LG boss roughly 11 days ago after receiving an undetermined amount in ransom.
The statement said in part, “His younger brother, who managed to flee the bandits’ hideout, informed us of his death yesterday (Thursday).
The Salatul ga’ib in his honor will be held on Saturday, 10th Dhul-Hijjah, 1443 (July 9, 2022) at the Izala Eid Ground, Near Airforce Base, Funtua Road, B/Gwari, Kaduna State right after Eid el-Kabir prayer.
Anyone who can’t make it to B/Gwari at that time is encouraged to pray for the soul’s rest wherever they are.
