After returning from last Thursday’s CAF Awards, Sadio Mane was greeted by Bayern Munich in style as the 2022 Africa Player of the Year. In recognition of his achievements with Liverpool and the Senegal national team during the previous season, the Bayern Munich star was voted Africa’s Player of the Year. Liverpool, a team that finished as a finalist in the UEFA Champions League last year, sold Sadio Mane to the German giants during the summer transfer window.
Following his return from the CAF Football awards, Sadio Mane received a warm greeting from German powerhouse Bayern Munich. At the CAF Awards held in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday, the Senegal player was awarded the 2022 Africa Player of the Year.
In a picture shared on social media, Mane is seen accepting a cake from Julian Nagglesman, the manager of Bayern Munich.
He was also a member of the Liverpool squad that captured the FA Cup and Caraboa Cup domestic double. Mane additionally assisted Liverpool in advancing to the UEFA Champions League final, where they fell to Real Madrid.
