According to media personality Toke Makinwa, certain actions are not mistakes. Instead, she views setbacks as a chance to grow.
“For me, it’s all about doing what I have to do and in the end, it ends out alright,” Makinwa said to Saturday Beats about hosting the second season of Big Brother Naija-themed chat show “The Buzz” on Showmax. Even when things don’t go as planned, I take what I’ve learned and continue on because I understand that there are no mistakes in life. I really think that everything ultimately works out for the best, and that one may grow from experiences.
“I love that this season is extremely conversational, I can invite guests and we can deconstruct moments that they weren’t aired, or that some people might have missed,” she stated when asked what will be different in this season of “The Buzz.” Unseen footage will undoubtedly be shown, and there will be conversations about the roommates’ movements, the intricacies of their friendships and relationships, drama, and gossip. On the episode, all will undoubtedly be revealed.
She noted that she will watch BBN with a mix of excitement and seriousness, as she will also be paying attention to discussable topics from the show, noting that the drama is not the only aspect of the show that she finds most interesting.
In response to criticism from some Nigerians, she was asked if she had any regrets about hosting the final Guilder Ultimate Search reality TV show. She responded, “I think that for every new host on an existing show, there is always going to be an issue. Because everyone was accustomed to a specific host, BBN faced the similar problem when Ebuka joined the network. But after a few seasons, we find it impossible to watch BBN without considering Ebuka.
It’s important to give people time to adjust on their own. I continue to be very interested in hosting a program like that (GUS).
