After a scuffle in Miami on August 28th, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s girlfriend Rachel Wattley, also known as Jade, was taken into custody.
According to TMZ, she was detained at the Miami-Dade County Jail on a battery charge linked to domestic abuse and is being held on $1,500 bail. The tabloid also alleged that the rapper has been trying to bail her out.
Uncertainty surrounds what transpired, however, video posted online depicted Tekashi tussling with Jade and a group of ladies outside a club. One of the women allegedly attempted to swing on the rapper at one point.
After being surrounded by people, Tekashi escaped to a luxury vehicle, and it was said that this is when the police finally arrived to break up the brawl and investigate what was going on. Tekashi and Jade are also said to have argued while being carried outside. The rapper reportedly claimed Jade hit him when the police inquired about what transpired. They also admitted that they noticed marks on him.
Officers were also informed by witnesses that Jade hit 69 inside and even tried to take his chain. Even though police claimed to have seen Tekashi with obvious facial injuries, they also claimed that he ultimately refused to cooperate in any way.
They still had enough to detain Jade police officers. Police said that further evidence and CCTV footage from inside the building captured the altercation.
Speaking to TMZ, Tekashi claimed that Jade, his girlfriend of four years, attacked him for an undisclosed reason, and he believes that she was influenced by her friends.
He added that he believed she was intoxicated. “I’m going to get her out of jail,” continues Tekashi. “She attacked me in front of the cops, and I told them you have to analyze her. She’s definitely under the influence. I don’t plan to press charges. I’m the one attempting to bail her out.”
She was left hanging by her friends, the rapper said, and he was left to handle the fallout, including getting her released from jail.
