On Wednesday night, Robert Lewandowski scored his first hat-trick for Barcelona on the Catalan giants’ Champions League debut. Lewandowski simply can’t stop scoring for Barcelona.
The Polish international scored three goals against Viktoria Plzen to maintain his impressive play since joining the team and make history in the most prestigious competition in Europe.
Lewandowski is the first player to ever score hat tricks for three separate clubs in the Champions League.
After 34 minutes, the striker scored with a beautiful finish to make it 2-0 after Franck Kessie’s opening goal. The second goal came from Lewandowski, who headed in a wonderful cross from Ousmane Dembele at the back post.
The summer acquisition from Barcelona then gave the hosts their third goal of the game with another outstanding finish, looping past the goalie from the edge of the penalty area.
Tuesday’s Champions League matchup between Barcelona and Lewandowski’s former team, Bayern Munich, is their next match.
