Three days have been set aside for national mourning as a result of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, according to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The outgoing president highlighted that the time of mourning will begin on the evening of Friday, September 9, 2022, and end at dusk on Monday, September 12, in a statement on Friday.
Additionally, all state organizations led by Kenya, both domestically and internationally, have been ordered by President Kenyatta to fly all Kenyan flags on their property at half-mast for the duration of the three-day period.
From this morning until sundown on Monday, September 12, 2022, the flag of the Republic of Kenya will be flown at half-mast at the State House, all Kenyan diplomatic missions, public buildings and grounds, all military bases, posts, and stations, as well as everywhere else in the country, according to President Kenyatta.
“All High Commissions, Embassies, Consulates, Diplomatic Offices and other facilities of the Republic of Kenya abroad should fly our national flag at half-mast for the same period.
President Kenyatta expressed his sympathies to the Queen’s family and the British people before praising the late matriarch as a brave leader who will be remembered as one of the most devoted members of the Royal Family.
Rarely has one person embodied the very best of humanity and leadership through selfless public service as the Late Queen Elizabeth II did in her 70 years as head of state of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, and in her life of 96 years, said President Kenyatta. “Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to His Majesty King Charles III and the rest of the Royal Family.”
