Roberto De Zerbi has been named as Brighton’s new head coach.
Under the condition that a work permit is obtained, the Italian will sign a four-year contract.
The Premier League team announced in a statement on Sunday that the 43-year-old made his first flight into Sussex on Friday night and attended a friendly game at the Amex on Saturday.
Graham Potter, who joined Chelsea and took the place of fired Thomas Tuchel, is replaced by De Zerbi.
He is anticipated to be there for Albion’s Saturday showdown against Liverpool at Anfield.
As a gesture of respect for HM Queen Elizabeth II, the club has also postponed Roberto’s official media introduction until Tuesday afternoon.
