Christian Pulisic, a winger for Chelsea, has criticized former coach Thomas Tuchel for the manner the German handled him.
The Blues fired Tuchel, a former manager of Borussia Dortmund, earlier this month.
He was replaced as Brighton’s manager by Graham Potter.
Attacker Pulisic, 24, has now publicly acknowledged that he was not the biggest Tuchel supporter.
In his new book, “Christian Pulisic, My Journey So Far,” Pulisic details a disagreement with Tuchel regarding his team’s Champions League semi-final matchup with Real Madrid last year.
I was quite disappointed in what transpired before that [second leg],’ remarked Pulisic.
We played Fulham in our next league game after an extremely strong first leg performance.
I didn’t play a single minute in the Fulham game because Tuchel told me he was resting me for the second leg.
“Then, on game day… Tuchel claims to have changed his mind and is now supporting Kai Havertz.
“I was genuinely surprised and dissatisfied. I believed that I had earned the right to start, and more significantly, he had previously guaranteed me that I would.
So I was just so wound up by the time he got me on with about 25 minutes left.
Following Chelsea’s opening-round Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb by a score of 1-0, Thomas Tuchel was fired.
In the meantime, the Blues’ new manager, Potter, was unable to win his first match with the team, drawing 1-1 with Salzburg at Stamford Bridge on the second day of the Champions League.
