Robert Lewandowski, a striker for Barcelona, has asserted that his move to the Spanish powerhouses has increased his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or.
Lewandowski moved this summer in a £50 million deal from Bayern Munich.
The Polish striker spent eight seasons playing at the Allianz Arena, appearing in 374 games and tallying 344 goals.
Lewandowski, who has now scored 11 goals in eight games for Barca, presently leads Karim Benzema and Iago Aspas in LaLiga scoring.
The 33-year-old believes his chances of eventually winning the Ballon d’Or have improved.
“I am aware that Barcelona is the team with the most champions.
He told Marca, “I believe the journey is shorter from Barça than from Bayern.”
