Antonio Rudiger, a defender for Real Madrid, has acknowledged that he intentionally caused mistakes while playing for Chelsea.
Rudiger claimed that he did it to rile up the crowd and raise the loudness inside Stamford Bridge.
This summer, the German international moved from Chelsea to Madrid as a free agent.
His five years at Stamford Bridge, where he won the Champions League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup, came to an end as a result.
And now the 29-year-old has admitted he purposefully created mayhem by making mistakes on the field to enrage Chelsea supporters when he thought they were being too quiet during games.
Since the stadium was too quiet for me to hear during this game, I committed a few blunders on purpose, Rudiger said to German media source Sport1.
I intended for it to awaken people.
