Kevin Campbell, a former Arsenal striker, referred to Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world and insisted that the Portugal international wasn’t to blame for Bruno Fernandes’ decline in performance at Old Trafford.
In his first 80 games with the Red Devils after joining from Sporting CP in 2020, Fernandes scored 40 goals and provided 25 assists.
But in his last 54 appearances, he has only contributed to 26 goals.
which correlates to a decline in his performance after Juventus’s Ronaldo joins the team in the summer of 2021.
In contrast, Campbell told Football Insider that he does not think Ronaldo is to blame for Fernandes’ difficulties.
Again, he remarked, “A player might not always believe that to be true, but the stats may indicate otherwise.
Clearly, the player believes that Ronaldo has nothing to do with it.
“It’s really challenging to place the blame on someone like Ronaldo, especially when you consider the fact that he repeatedly saved Manchester United last season. It’s really challenging to look at it and conclude that “He is at fault.”
The best player in the world, he will keep overcoming obstacles that others cannot.
