Peter Crouch, a former striker for Tottenham, advised Son Heung-min to think about quitting the team and added that the South Korean does not receive the respect he merits.
He questioned how Spurs were managed to keep Son out of the hands of the top clubs in Europe.
Son has almost a century of goals for the North London club and won the Premier League Golden Boot last season.
Prior to the international break, the South Korean international’s team’s match versus Leicester was played with him on the bench.
When he came on later in the game, he answered with a devastating hat-trick in a frenzied 13-minute second half span.
Son was a member of Tottenham manager Antonio Conte’s starting lineup against Arsenal on Saturday.
Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Granit Xhaka scored for the losing team as Tottenham was defeated 3-1. Crouch said that Spurs fans have been lucky to benefit from his goal-scoring abilities for such a long time.
“He has been grabbing at things, but the hat-trick against Leicester was the Son of last season,” he remarked.
“I believe he needs to treat his name with more respect.
Teddy Sheringham, a legend for Tottenham, is one goal ahead of him. I believe that if he isn’t already, the son will also go down in history.
