Cristiano Ronaldo, a forward for Manchester United, has spoken out following the revelation that he won’t be joining Erik ten Hag’s side for this weekend’s match against Chelsea.
Ronaldo acknowledged in a message on Instagram that “the heat of the moment” got to him.
“I try to live and play with respect for my teammates, rivals, and coaches, as I have throughout my career. That remains the same. I remain the same. Since I’ve been playing elite football for the past 20 years, I’ve remained the same professional and person, and respect has always been a major factor in how I make decisions.
“I got my start when I was very young, and I always looked up to the older, more seasoned players as role models. Thus, in the future, I’ve always made an effort to serve as an example for the kids who developed in all the teams I’ve represented. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible, and occasionally we make mistakes because of our emotions.
“At the moment, all I feel like I need to do is keep working hard in Carrington, help out my teammates, and be prepared for everything that may come up in a game. There is no option to give in to the pressure. It was never. We must stand as one as Manchester United. We’ll soon be reunited, he assured me.
