After scoring in Napoli’s 2-1 win over Atalanta on Saturday night, Victor Osimhen became the highest-scoring Nigerian in Serie A history.
Osimhen scored a hat-trick in Napoli’s 4-1 victory over Sassuolo last weekend, tying him with Simy Nwankwo, a former Crotone forward, for the league lead with 31 goals.
The 23-year-first-half old’s goal at the Gewiss Stadium put him 32 goals ahead of Simy Nwankwo.
On minute nine, the forward gave up a penalty, which his countryman Ademola Lookman converted.
Osimhen, though, swiftly atoned for his error by tying the score for Napoli with a free header on a Piotr Zielinskin floating cross from a corner.
