In order to increase his team’s chances of winning the league, ex-Arsenal player Ray Parlour has asked manager Mikel Arteta to bring in a midfielder from the English Premier League (EPL) and a new striker in the January transfer window.
According to Parlour, Arteta’s Arsenal team needs a player similar to Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans as well as a striker to cover for Gabriel Jesus.
Going into the midseason break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Arsenal appears to be in first place in the English Premier League with a two-point lead over second-place Manchester City.
The Gunners placed sixth last season, but Arteta’s team has advanced thanks to a successful summer transfer window that saw the arrival of players like Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Fabio Vieira.
We all know how crucial the transfer window can be, so January will be crucial for many clubs, Parlour said on talkSPORT.
“Mikel Arteta might have some money to say, “Right, we need another midfielder.
“Like when they tried to obtain Youri Tielemans previously, we need a Youri Tielemans. Additionally, they require a back-up striker in case Gabriel Jesus suffers an injury.
“I know they have got Eddie Nketiah, but sometimes you need the extra striker who is going to get you the goals to win the league.”
