Goncalo Ramos, Portugal’s Round of 16 hero, has revealed what Cristiano Ronaldo did prior to the team’s 6-1 victory over Switzerland on Tuesday.
He claimed that before the game, the former captain of Manchester United spoke with the entire team, including him.
After unexpectedly replacing Ronaldo in Fernando Santos’ starting XI, Ramos scored the first hat-trick of the 2022 World Cup.
Ramos disclosed the conversation he had with Ronaldo prior to the game while speaking after the match.
“Cristiano addressed me as he does everyone else. He always tries to assist because he is the captain. He did a fantastic job for me, he said.
When Portugal square off against the representative of Africa, Morocco, in the quarterfinals at the weekend, Ronaldo will be hoping to get back into the starting lineup.
