A staggering €1 billion would be paid by Real Madrid to obtain Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old won the Golden Boot prize for his eight goals during the recently finished 2022 World Cup.
The France forward made history by scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup final for the first time in 56 years.
Mbappe’s desire in Real has long been known, and they appear certain to sign him to a free move in the summer of 2021.
In the summer of 2021, they had already made three proposals, the greatest of which was for €200 million.
Finally committing his future to PSG, Mbappe signed a massive two-year deal with a third-year option.
But since he first appeared on the scene, the former Monaco youth has appeared to be every bit a Los Blancos player, and it appears Madrid president Florentino Perez will do whatever it takes to get him to play for Los Blancos.
In fact, according to Gazzetta, the La Liga heavyweights are prepared to pay a total of £877 million over four years.
The earnings, which are estimated to be a staggering £552 million, as well as a £132 million transfer fee and additional signing-on and commission payments, would make up a sizeable portion of the total.
Mbappe’s contract expires in 2024, and he is free to leave PSG at that time if he so chooses.
