Former senator Shehu Sani has offered a recommendation as Nigerians wait for the G5 governors, led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, to make a selection on a presidential candidate.
Sani stated that the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, should support the “devil” they are familiar with.
The Wike-led faction opposes Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee, due to the party’s zoning structure.
The faction, which has declined to support Atiku, claimed that the North is unable to provide both the National Chairman and the Presidential flagbearer.
Iyorchia Ayu’s resignation as PDP National Chairman was demanded by the G-5 group, which included the governors of Benue, Oyo, Enugu, Abia, and Rivers State.
Wike claimed that the G-5 wants the office of the party’s National Chairman to be assigned to the Southern region of the nation after he was defeated by Atiku.
Sani, on the other hand, stated in a tweet: “G-5 Governors should support ‘the devil’ they know and not…
“The country is fortunate to have presidential contenders with democratic credentials and a track record of tolerance for political opposition, criticism, and dissent. We don’t need a dictator who is allergic to and antagonistic to other viewpoints.
