Osei Mensah Bonsu, a member of parliament for the Suame seat, has declared that he will not run for office again in the 2024 elections.
During an interview with Wontumi TV, the MP who serves as the majority leader of the ruling party announced this. He claims that he wants to move because of his age and try something else.
After responding to a query on whether or not Ghanaians would see him again in the 9th Parliament of Ghana, Kyei-Bonsu made this admission. “I have expressed it plainly that, per my age, I will stop it here and offer my thanks,” declared Hon. Osei Mensah unequivocally.
He claims that he is under increasing pressure from various national and regional figures to run in the elections of 2024, but he has already made up his mind.
“Members of my party, both locally and nationally, are phoning and adamantly stating that they need me, but I’m currently speaking to you. I have spoken and made plain my position,” he said.
I am aware of the strain that has been placed on me, but we won’t talk about it on the radio right now; instead, we will do it later.
