On January 4, the Kenyan police opened an inquiry into the death of model and LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.
In Kapsaret, Uasin Gishu, Chiloba was found dead, his body hidden in a metal box alongside the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road.
The metal box was reportedly witnessed being dropped in the vicinity by a car without a license plate, according to the police’s preliminary investigations.
Police officers who were manning a nearby roadblock were informed of the incident. The police left their station and sped over to the incident. When the package was opened, a man’s corpse wearing a woman’s clothing was discovered inside.
It was then determined that the deceased person was the homosexual rights advocate and fashion designer.
He was then laid to rest at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital while an autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death so that an investigation could begin.
A well-known LGBTQ rights activist in the nation was Chiloba.
The Kenyan Police Force’s spokesperson, Resila Onyango, said they don’t yet know what caused the event.
“At this time, we are unsure of the cause of his death. The situation is being handled by experts, she stated.
