Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano, wed Hauwa’u Adamu Abdullahi Dikko, his second wife.
It was announced late last year that the monarch and his longtime lover were getting married.
The 60-year-old monarch has had four children with the same woman, to whom he has been married for more than three decades.
It was learned that the ceremony took place on January 6 at the late Jarman Kano’s, Professor Isah Hashim’s, home in the state’s Nasarawa GRA.
During the marriage rites, the Madakin Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani Ibrahim, represented the groom’s family, and Alhaji Shehu Hashim, the bride’s.
Makaman Bichi, Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa, and the Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta were among those that were present for the wedding.
The bride is reportedly a direct descendant of Malam Jamo, the late Ibrahim Dabo’s brother and the late emir of Kano.
